"Fight Club"

"Fight Club"
A psychological analysis of the character of Jack as a hero in the movie "Fight Club".
5,400 words (approx. 21.6 pages) | 7 sources | 2002 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper investigates the film "Fight Club" according to the myth of the hero. While Joseph Campbell's definition of the hero are frequently used, the hero concepts found in the works of Carl G. Jung, Frederick Nietzsche, and Sigmund Freud are also incorporated. In doing so, it is made evident that the character of Jack is the epitome of the modern hero, where he embodies the character traits and personal qualities that set an individual apart in the process towards becoming a "hero."
