It also allows students to be graded on a variety of competencies, including the sophistication of the student's position statement, the support the student provides for the position, and finally the literary or persuasive appeal and the sense of the audience. For teachers who must use an A-D grading scale, the grading evaluation guide could easily be transposed to a different format, thus it could be used by a variety of teachers, in a variety of school districts."
