Equality Among Nations
An analysis of the factors behind the inequality in development among different nations.
1,411 words (approx. 5.6 pages) | 5 sources | MLA | 2009

Paper Summary:

The paper refers to John Rawls' ideas on equality among nations and discusses how rich nations assist poor nations by making them comply with their rules and policies. The paper further discusses how the global market is controlled by rich nations which place the third world countries at a disadvantage. The paper then explains how third world countries need to display their situations in a way that will attract richer nations to invest in them. The paper therefore shows how the development and growth of poor nations is also determined by the effort they personally apply to see them out of their situation.

From the Paper:

"The economic state of third world countries has continued to deteriorate despite the efforts applied by developed nations to assist them. Equal distribution of resources in the world has remained to be a dream in the mind of many, as its fulfillment remains a mystery. Development is mainly determined by economic policies made by governments of different countries. Implementation of policies is however determined by the ability of a country in terms of resources to apply them. This has remained the biggest challenge among poor nations. Their effort to seek international intervention has been painful as they are required to comply with certain terms and conditions."
