Paper Summary:

This paper presents research on the Dell Computer Corporation. The paper explains that, as exemplified by the stock price behavior in the 2008 recession, Dell is not only successful, but also greatly influential in the industry. Although the company does have its critics, the author, who is a satisfied Dell user, reports enthusiastically about Dell's innovations in product development, customer service and socially responsibility. After analyzing this company, the author remains committed to its products and to investing in Dell Computer Corporation.

From the Paper:

"As with every other company, Dell Computer Corporation has earned quite a handful of criticisms in the past years. Michael Schrage, writing for Wired Magazine, notes that while Dell has been highly successful, its business model of direct selling and just-in-time manufacturing is not widely replicated. Schrage writes that the company's efficiency borders on being ruthless and called the company a "super predator". Schrage also adds that for all its innovative veneer, Dell Computer is not that innovative."
