1,792 words (approx. 7.2 pages) | 6 sources | MLA | 2009 United States

Paper Summary:

In the paper, the writer provides a historical overview of the RMB and a current analysis of the economic and political landscape of China. The writer explores how China must change in order to avoid economic deflation and the possibility of collapse. The paper also looks at the currency market and the forces that would motivate China to revaluate the RMB. The writer comes to the conclusion that given China's high growth and current economic boom, it should revaluate the RMB to give it more strength against the US dollar.

From the Paper:

"The economic explosion of the Chinese economy within the last decade has changed the face and scope of China's currency decisions. In recent years, China's economic achievements have been the envy of the world, as it continues to create strong growth and change the financial infrastructure of its country. There have been criticisms however of China's monetary policy especially in its application to deflation on the global market. The pressure for China to revalue the RMB, their national currency has continued to grow despite China's central bank current restructuring and reintegration. These pressures have changed the scope of RMB's market value and the current hiatus about China's monetary policy has shaken the methodology of and the current debate of how China should reinvent itself."
