The paper examines the global competition facing the Chevron oil company and relates that in order for Chevron to capitalize upon the current market conditions, expansion of production volume is essential. The paper explains why Chevron would do well to both increase the supply of its sale-able product and seek out a strategic alliance with Iran. The paper notes that forming a strategic alliance with a politically questionable country may be ethically questionable, however, profit is the goal of any capitalistic company.

From the Paper:
"Chevron at the current time has a price of $97 a barrel for oil. Their production volume is at 13.4 million barrels, which will be put in perspective in regards to the global market shortly. For Chevron to continue to be competitive in the modern competitive environment, which is quite global with other countries possessing considerable comparative advantages, they must strive towards efficiency and volume. Were domestic production of oil to dramatically increase, foreign dependency could thereby be reduced, which would be highly beneficial to all facets of the American economy."
