"The Need for "Black" Economics

The implied policy of the author is one that has only of late gained widespread support within the African-American community, and additional support within society. That is, the author speaks of the need for African-Americans to become economically independent. Here, rather than their learning how to become "good" employees for the owners of various businesses, the author notes that African-Americans must learn how to become their own business owners. Thus, rather than relying on the majority employers within or influencing the African-American community (e.g., the military, McDonald's, and drug dealers), African-Americans must learn how to become their own majority employers.
