The males are viewed as dominant and higher class, but until recent years, it has become more acceptable for women to enter, and even take leadership roles in the business world. Beauty and fashion are very important to the Venezuelans, particularly for women, so females in business roles should take extra care to always look their best. The business culture of Venezuela has many similarities to those of social functions and includes nepotistic behaviors. Even though there is wide separation in the status of classes and races, and women are just beginning to climb up the scale of equality, the citizens of Venezuela are extremely proud of their families, appearance, heritage, and traditions.
