Paper Summary:
This paper briefly discusses the concept of miracles in Ibsen's "The Doll's House". It looks at how various miracles happen to the characters throughout the play and how these impact the final outcome.
From the Paper:
"Nora goes from her fathers' home right into her husbands' house. All the time she hangs around the house and takes care of the children. Her husband gives her money and treats her as a doll. Nora likes it, she doesn't mind keeping her opinion to herself as long as her husband is happy and she has everything she wants. All the problems that reach Nora are blown away with the sigh of easiness. Nora's life is a heaven until a big problem strikes. The problem that Nora creates herself cannot be avoided. Nora thinks of many ways to get out, but telling the husband is the last thing that comes on her mind. Only when there is no way out, Nora starts thinking about her "loving" husband. Although it's almost impossible, Nora still expects Torvald to lay his life for her."
