Paper Summary:
This paper is an admission essay to Auburn university from the point of view of one who will not be denied. The writer's history, religious convictions and personal traits are described, and the writer's planned future is mapped out in detail, from college to the U.S. presidency, and from a career as a fighter pilot to world peace. The writer's hobbies and favorite subjects are mentioned as well, and the paper concludes with the assertion that a relationship with the writer will prove to be mutually beneficial.
From the Paper:
"Born five weeks premature, I came home from the hospital, supposedly healthy. A few days later, my mother noticed that I had turned a grayish-blue, (after five miscarriages, she feared the worst) and rushed me to the emergency room. After hours of MRI's, cat scans, and spinal taps, I was finally diagnosed with a severe case of sleep apnea. At times, I would terminate all respiratory functions, cutting off oxygen to my brain and other vital organs. I imagine, then as now, I was too entranced in thought to worry about so menial a task as breathing. Apparently, this negligence almost killed me. The doctors said that even if I somehow survived the night, I would become a vegetable, confined to a wheelchair and a life of hardship. Apparently, the predictions of an expert are no match for the power of prayer."
