Abstract The paper explains the seven values of the programmed approach to change management and the five principles of ADKAR (awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, reinforcement) approach and then discusses the pros and cons of the different approaches. The paper looks at the perspectives associated with different approaches and concludes that many organizations would benefit the most from a hybrid approach that allows for the addressing of needs that are specific to the organization overcoming the change.
